Margaret River & Southern WA top Lonely Planet’s ‘Best in Asia Pacific’ list for 2019

Margaret River and Southern Western Australia, including as far south as Albany and across to Cape Arid National Park, has been announced as this year's number one Asian-Pacific destination by leading global travel authority, Lonely Planet.

Expanded this year to include Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific for the first time, 'Best in Asia Pacific' is Lonely Planet's annual online list of the region's 10 best destinations to visit over the coming year.

The Margaret River and Southern WA region was selected by Lonely Planet's team of independent travel experts because of its breathtaking beaches, long-stretching coastline, award-winning wineries, breweries and restaurants, tall-tree forests and abundant farmland.

In the year ending December 2018, the Australia's South-West region had 3,371,100 visitors who spent $1.61 billion.
